description Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all Villas and at the Park Visitor Center Dreher Island State Recreation Area is located on Lake Murray just 30 miles northwest of Columbia the capital of South Carolina. During the 1940's the area was used for training exercises by the Army Air Corps. Today the park consist of three islands linked to the mainland by a causeway and two bridges. Its 348 acres and 12 miles of shoreline make it an ideal place for recreation.
drivingDirection From I-26: Take exit 91 (Chapin exit- Hwy. 48) to Chapin. Turn rt on Hwy 76 for 1/8 mile, then turn left onto St. Peter's Church Rd (Hwy. 29) for 4 mi. Turn left onto Dreher Island Rd (Hwy 231) for approximately 3 mi. Then turn onto State Park Rd for 2 mi. to the park entrance. There are (brown) state park roadsigns that will direct the way from Interstate-26
